Chosen + Redesign

After creating 4 distinct characters, the next step was to select the character silhouette to focus on.

Ultimately, I chose the first character I had designed due to its silhouette and the shapes it featured.

Once I selected the character design, I proceeded to create different color palette variations.

Regrettably, following the review of my character, I received advice to reconsider the outfit design. This was mainly due to the necessity of both modeling the dress and rigging it, which would demand significant attention and effort. Consequently, I opted to create two distinct designs, with each one emphasizing either the flowy dress or the accessories that needed rigging.

I revised the sketch by dividing it into separate parts that can be connected during the rigging phase. Additionally, I labeled the key components that need to be rigged for each of the redesigned models.

I have opted for the second redesigned model because I believe that rigging the dress in the first redesign would be too time-consuming. Having experience with 3D models, I see this as an opportunity to challenge myself and expand my skills by focusing on character rigging. I view rigging the dynamic accessories in this redesign as a valuable challenge for me this semester.
